The construction of the Nomad mini-hotel was completed in 2013 by Studio Arte architecture& design.
A little about the project itself for the readers of our informative forum.
A house like this first appeared in the south of Portugal, in the town of Silves, Algarve. The studio specialists who were in charge of the work are fascinated by ancient nomadic tribes, such as gypsies, nomads, traveling ninjas. They all lead their own independent lifestyles and do without luxury gadgets at ease. They find a shelter under any canopy or in a hut.
The philosophy of nomadism is also reflected in this new project. To carry out the intended plan, the craftsmen chose a used shipping twelve-meter container as the material. It became the structural shell of the building, which can then be transformed by adding various architectural, mechanical and technical features necessary for elementary comfort.
The cabin has sanitary facilities, a kitchen, a living room, aka a bedroom. On the open veranda that runs along the entire facade, you can spend time with friends. With the curtains drawn, you’re left in a secluded area. The sliding glass panels, which act as both walls and doors, reveal an openness to the world and new experiences.
- a place of residence for young people;
- roadside motel;
- an option for those planning a vacation;
- A place of accommodation for guests;
- an unusual office with a music studio;
- Hotel room replacement.
Its flexibility and mobility – it is a kind of challenge to the bureaucracy of modern building codes.
History teaches us that confidence doesn’t come easy, but changes in lifestyles help make it happen. Maybe it’s worth it to move into such a house from the comfort of your rooms sometimes to remember the life-loving philosophy of nomadic people.
