Creating a lawn with shoots or parts of plants: When this is vital

Creating a lawn with shoots

If for the creation of the lawn are used types of grass, which are easily vegetatively propagated, you can plant individual shoots or parts of the plant, which then themselves will grow in an even carpet.

This method allows to have a high quality grass cover, consisting only of chosen species and varieties, with minimal work for the preparation of site and care in the early stages after planting, the main thing – quick distribution of plants on the surface evenly.

This method requires high monetary costs, and it is used only in special cases, for example, when one wants to use valuable varieties that form few seeds. If rhizomes are used, they are cut into small pieces and scattered over the plot. The soil is then rolled up and covered with a light layer of humus.

Subsequently the plot is often watered until the whole area is covered with seedlings. As for the rooting shoots, they are planted in the furrows. The wider the stitches, the faster the grass carpet will spread.
