What do you need for crafts

A pink bud is made in many ways. In one case, the manufacture of a flower involves only the presence of material for crafts, that is, paper or fabric. In another, there are also scissors, glue, wire, and additional accessories in the form of beads or sparkles. Let’s consider several ways – with and without additional tools.

How to make a rose from a paper towel do it yourself

Option – a bud without a stem

We take a four times folded paper napkin (as it was in the package) and put it in front of us. We bend one edge by about 1 cm. Then we wind it on the index finger. We do this so that the curved edge “looks” at the base of the finger. Try not to wind it very tight so that later the bud has a half-open appearance.

As a result, we got a kind of paper cylinder on the finger. We make the base of the bud out of it. To do this, simply squeeze the edge of our cylinder, which is located near the fingertips, that is, the edge opposite to the bent. It needs to be squeezed and twisted a little, thereby fixing the paper so that the bud does not fall apart.

It remains a little “dissolve” the flower. To do this, take the edge bent at the beginning and, as if in a spiral, slightly twist it to the outside. It is better to turn out only two or three upper layers of petals. So we got a ready half-opened pink bud without a leg.

Option – a bud with a stem

We take a paper towel and fold it in half so that it does not turn out to be square, but rectangular. We bend one of the short edges of our rectangle by about 1 cm. Then, as in the previous version, we wind the canvas on the finger so that the curved edge “looks” at its base, and the rest most remains behind the fingertips.

After the bud is wound, we twist its base in a familiar way. By the same method, we continue to twist the stem of the flower. Around the middle of the stem we will have a free, not bent corner of the napkin. It must be gently bent to the other side, giving the shape of a leaf. When the leaf is ready, continue to twist the stem below to the very end. Further, as in the previous version, we twist the petals of the bud. Voila – a paper rose with a stem and a leaf is ready!

How to make a rose from a tissue napkin: instructions

The first option is a fabric bud with leaves in a cognac glass

For the product you will need two fabric napkins (we will use two colors – red and green) and wire. We put a red napkin in front of us on the table. We bend about one centimeter about one edge and wrap a napkin on a finger, as in the case with the paper bud described above. We wrap the base of the bud with wire and slightly twist the petals outward. We fold the green napkin with an accordion, in the middle we rewind the wire.

Tip: if there is a small shiny pattern on the fabric napkin for the bud, the rose will look even more solemn.

We lower the folded green “accordion” in the middle to the bottom of the cognac glass so that its ends stick out to the top – these will be the leaves of our rose. Between two green leaves, insert our red bud and the composition is ready!

The second option – a lush bud from a tissue napkin

In order to make a fabric rose, we need 5 red fabric napkins, scissors and a thin braid.

Unfolded in one layer of napkins, stack in a pile. We stack the stack four times. With the fingers of one hand we take the central corner, with the second hand in a semicircle, we wave-cut the edges of future petals, as shown in the photo below. When we lay out the napkin, we get a square with waved-cut edges. We add future petals with an “accordion”, squeeze the fingers in the middle and tie a braid at this place.

We straighten the petals, give the shape of a bud and get a beautiful magnificent rose. Decorate a bottle of champagne or wine by tying this rose on the neck.

Tip: roses will turn out even more beautiful if you use two-color napkins for a bud. For example, red with pink, yellow with white, blue with blue, and so on..

How to make a rose from a napkin for topiary

Topiary – in this case, roses on a ball – is an original decoration for the ceremonial decoration of cafe halls, holiday tables. It is used as a gift wrapping for sweets..

To create a topiary with a diameter of 25 centimeters, you will need to make about 25 small roses. Napkins use both paper and fabric.

Step-by-step instruction

We will need:

  • glue,
  • paper napkins,
  • scissors,
  • thin pencil or wooden skewer,
  • thin wire.

1 step. We take a paper towel, fold it four times. We unfold and cut with scissors into bends into four equal parts.

2 Step. Using a wooden kebab skewer, starting from one of the corners, we turn half the napkin into a tube, as shown in the photo below.

3 Step. We take up the paper edges wound on a skewer and move them a little inward, making this part corrugated. We take out the skewer and in the same way twist the remaining 3 parts of the napkin. So we get the petals for future roses. For each rose you will need 4 petals. If you want to make the rose more magnificent, increase the number of petals a little.

Blanks

4 Step. We take another paper towel, cut it in half. We squeeze one half into a ball, and the second half we tighten this ball to get a kind of head with a tail.

Product twisting

5 Step. We take the wire, about 3 cm. We smear the tip with glue and insert it into the tail of the resulting head.

6 Step. We take a small strip of napkins and wrap the wire with it, starting from the head. Finish wrapping, not reaching 1 cm. To the end of the wire.

7 Step. We wind and glue the petals on the head so that their twisted parts remain on top.

8 Step. We collect all the roses made into a ball, forming a topiary.

Topiary

Tip: make large and small roses on legs of different lengths, so the bouquet will look “alive” and even more original.

Topiary is made plain and multi-colored, and as the leaves use green stripes inserted in a ball between the flowers. If you insert sweets into the buds, the bouquet will turn out not only beautiful, but also with a tasty surprise.

Where are paper and fabric roses used?

The festive table setting will be completed if you complement it with your own hand-made flowers. Buds can be large and small, open and closed, plain and multi-colored, on legs with leaves and without them.

Basically, these colors complement the table setting. They are beautifully placed in brandy glasses or transparent bowls, large half-open buds decorate the guests’ plates or make a whole bouquet and place it in the center of the table. Compositions of paper or fabric roses blend wonderfully with matching candles and beads.
