In the first article on how to build a 3×4 mobile home on your own, we talked about how to build a foundation, floor and walls. This article will focus on the construction of a roof, the selection of interior and exterior finishes. We will describe the devices to facilitate work, the order of work and give a summary estimate.

Roof and roof

The rafter system in this case also refers to the frame of the house and is its element. Based on the minimum square of the building, the supply of air (so that the room is not stuffy) can be increased due to the height of the ceilings using the rafter space. Therefore, the inner surface of the roof slopes from the inside will visually become a continuation of the walls.

Rafter system

We manufacture in advance one-piece elements of the rafter system from a 100×50 board, as shown in the figure.

They will be installed in 500 mm increments, so a total of 9 pieces are required. We install the rafters in the design position, fastening with a rail.

Then we sew in a continuous row the processed unedged board (how to process – see “Raised floor” in 1 part) and, if necessary, the counter-crate (rail 20×40).

In the places where the rafters are supported on the armored belt, we install the wedges on the glue. We connect the rafters, armopoyas and wedge with a perforated galvanized corner 50×150 mm (width 50 mm). Cut the wind board 100×50 lengthwise at the corner of the roof.

Roofing material

Any sheet material can be used as a roof – slate, ondulin, metal tiles. The roofing procedure is standard, according to the instructions. Let’s take a look at metal tiles as an example. The size, thickness and manufacturer do not matter in the conditions of this article, since the data are averaged. We take the roof area as 25 sq. m.

Starting from the bottom row, we lay and fix the sheets to the counter-lathing. Sewing a horse. Finish the wind board with ebb. Installing gutters (with a slope in the right direction).

Roof insulation

Lay the sinuses between the rafters with polyethylene, fix with a stapler (vaporization).

We recommend using mineral wool (“stone”) slabs for roof insulation. Their rigidity is convenient for installation, and they do not settle and clump over time (compared to roll material).

Lay the insulation boards. Hem from the inside with OSB sheets (8-10 mm).

Entrance and interior doors, windows

Installation of doors and windows in frame houses is carried out only on polyurethane foam. This is done in order to avoid possible distortions of the box in case of natural deformation of the frame (during shrinkage or moisture saturation). Wooden or plastic windows can be made to order in size.

In the sample under consideration, the following dimensions of the openings appear:

1. Entrance door 2000×800 – 1 piece.
2. Interior doors (MDF) 2000×800 – 2 pieces.
3. Windows 1000×750 – 4 pcs., 500×750 – 1 pc. Glazing area 3.75 sq. m.

Windows and entrance door are installed along the outer boundary of the structural material of the wall.

Interior decoration

Floor. Floor area – 12 sq. m. The most economical, but at the same time practical materials for the floor – linoleum or laminated MDF panels (laminate). Both materials are quite suitable for this project..

Walls. Wall area for interior decoration – 70 sq. m. The OSB construction layer allows the use of any panel material without crate. It can be lining, plastic or MDF panels..

Ceiling. You can finish with the walls, one material of different colors. The area of ​​the horizontal ceiling is 6 sq. m.

Making devices that make work easier.

Making a self-made guide with a variable angle for smooth trimming of the board

Smooth ends of the boards (90 °) are an important point that affects the quality of the frame assembly. A trimmer is an expensive tool that may no longer be needed after construction is completed, so we suggest making a device for trimming boards. The trestles, on which the trimmer is installed, must have a continuation in the form of a long (6 m) narrow (30-40 cm) table on which the board will lie.

1. On the trestles, installed at a height convenient for long-term work, we strengthen in parallel two thrust boards (must be flat) 1 m long.The distance between them is 160 mm.
2. We make a 10 mm hole, stepping back 30 mm from the right edge, and install a 10 mm hairpin in it with a free part length of 60 mm.
3. On trimming the corner (45×45 mm), we make a 12 mm hole 20 mm from the edge. We screw the nut onto the stud to the height of the thickness of the board, which will have to be trimmed. We install the corner with a hole on the pin so that one of the shelves serves as a stop for the platform of the circular saw on the right. We tighten the fixing nut.
4. We install a stop from a corner at 90 ° to the wooden guides (boards 1 m). We make a 12 mm hole in the opposite part of the stop and the guide (10 mm). We install the mating stud. The length of the free end of the perpendicular stop must be at least 40 cm.
5. For the convenience of working with sharp corners, a handle can be attached to the perpendicular movable stop. With the help of this handle, the left hand presses the stop along the markings to the board, and the right hand is sawing.

Manufacturing of additional devices

It is more convenient to carry sheet material (OSB) on a special hook made of 8-10 mm wire. It is reasonable to make goats and scaffolds from the same material as the whole house – board and OSB plate, partly from waste or scrap material.

Since the future house is wooden, special attention should be paid to antiseptic and fire retardant treatment of wood. In order for the board to be well saturated with these substances, simply wetting it with a roller is not enough. We suggest a more effective way – soaking. For this we will need to make a bath. When breaking up the territory of the future construction site, consider the place for it. It is desirable that it be under the rays of sunlight – the drug reacts much better in water heated to 35-40 ° C.

1. We assemble a box with dimensions of 6.5x1x0.5 m.After disassembling the box, the boards will also go into action.
2. We lay durable polyethylene in several layers (it will come in handy after using it in the bath).
3. We dilute the fire-retardant preparation according to the instructions on the package and carefully pour it into the bath.
4. We soak a dry board in the bathroom for 2-4 hours and cover with polyethylene (so that there is no evaporation).
5. Drying boards in stacks.

We recommend using the TAMAK-3N preparation. It contains flame retardants and antiseptic.

The order of work

1. Cleaning and visual division of the site for the construction site – 0.5 days.

4. Assembling the workbench and trimming device – 0.5 days.
5. Trimming the entire board (including unedged board) on one side – 0.5 days.

Of course, the prices for both material and work may vary depending on the region of construction. The calculation tables show averaged data rounded upwards (with a margin). Costs for transport and tools are not taken into account, since these indicators are strictly individual.

How to move such a house to another place

When choosing a place for a mobile house, you should pay attention to one nuance. If in the future it is planned to rearrange it or take it out of the territory, then the place for it should be determined so that a truck crane can drive up. Loading is carried out using a steel beam. The slinging of the house is done as follows.

1. The drain system is dismantled.
2. You will need two soft slings of maximum length (usually 4 m), with a lifting capacity of 2 tons each.
3. The slings are passed under the house and conditionally fixed 1 m from each edge. A board 150×40 mm is started under them.
4. Soft slings are lengthened by rigid (cable), the ends are thrown over the beam.
5. Between the tops of the slings, above the ridge, “vnatyag” are installed spacers – paired flat boards 150×40, cut with a wedge at the ends (slings lie in the corners). This spacer will not damage the edges of the roof slopes..

The house has individual electrical wiring. For fire safety reasons, we recommend using external wiring in a corrugation or cable duct. Also, a fire extinguisher located in an easily accessible place should become an attribute of a wooden dacha..
