A place for a car in the country is rather a necessity. After all, the rain sparingly pours on us when we get our bags out of the car, and cleaning it from snow in winter is not a pleasant experience. How to make a platform with a carport on your site, you will learn from our article.

There are several options for arranging the site – cheap, but troublesome and long, and more expensive, but convenient and durable.

The size of the pad should match the size of your vehicle. It is considered convenient when the platform and the canopy in length and width exceed the size of the car by one and a half meters.

Arrangement of the platform with a concrete screed

First you need to align and plan the site. If you have a canopy, then you should take care of this in advance and take into account when working.

Materials and tools:

• crushed stone;
• reinforcing mesh;
• formwork boards;
• pegs and lace;

Remove the top layer of soil 20 cm over the entire area. To control the same depth of excavated soil, you need to drive pegs in the corners of the site and check the depth using a level and ropes. We lay geotextiles at the bottom.

We fill up the sand to a depth of 10 cm, and spill it well with water and ram. After that, we pour crushed stone on top of the sand, level it and ram it. If there is no vibratory plate or vibratory rammer, then you can make a homemade rammer.

After the “pillow” is ready, you need to make the formwork from the boards and you can start pouring concrete on the site. As a rule, it takes place in two stages. First stage: pour concrete already to a height of 5 cm.After the concrete grasps a little, we lay a reinforcing mesh on it and again pour concrete to a height of 5 cm.

In a day, we perform concrete ironing. To do this, pour dry cement onto a moistened area and level it with a broom.

Paving slab site construction

A paving slab site is built much faster, looks more attractive, but costs several times more. After all, not any tile is suitable here, but a stronger one with the marking “vibrated”.

Materials and tools:

• vibrated paving slabs;
• cement;
• sand;
• rubber hammer;
• rule;
• level;
• grinder for trimming tiles;
• pegs and lace.

The device of the “pillow” under the tiles is the same as under the screed, with the exception of rubble. After planning the site with a rammer, you need to properly tamp and level the site.

For a more durable adhesion of the tile to the ground, spillage of a cement-sand mixture is used. The area to be tiled is divided into strips using pegs and laces. Pour a few shovels of dry mix directly onto the ground and spread evenly over the strip. Flatten with a rule and tamp with your hands.

Place the tiles on a sand-cement “pillow” and gently hit with a rubber mallet to sink it a little into the ground. Here you need a good eye and, of course, accurate adherence to level marks and laces.

After the last tile is laid, you need to fill in the gaps between the tiles. To do this, scatter the sand-cement mixture over the tile and spread it with a dry broom throughout the site, sweeping the DSP in the cracks between the tiles. After that, you need to thoroughly water the site with a hose in order to wash off the remaining sand and cement from the tile surface.

Playground canopy

The most popular canopies are now made of polycarbonate and metal profiles. It is the most durable and easy-to-work material.

Tools and materials:

• metal profile pipes;
• polycarbonate;
• fasteners (bolts with washers and nuts);
• Bulgarian;
• drill;
• stepladder.

If you did not forget about the canopy during the construction of the site and pre-concreted the posts, then this will greatly simplify the matter..

Using a welding machine, we “tie” the posts along the entire length of the canopy along the top, first on one side, then on the other. Now you can weld on the prepared arc-shaped trusses and make a support for polycarbonate sheets.

For fastening polycarbonate, there are special fasteners that prevent it from cracking from atmospheric changes. We drill holes in metal pipes with a drill and bolt polycarbonate sheets to them. Do not skimp on fasteners, in this case it is better to play it safe and tighten the sheets well.
