In the patriarchal province of Utrecht in Holland’s historic center, by definition, life should be quiet and measured. Where else but here to hide from the increased attention, stress and spiritual tension of the business elite, artistic beau monde, just wealthy people who are used to relax in an atmosphere of luxury and high comfort?
A health villa is best suited for this purpose Wellness. From the outside, as visitors to the Forum City pages can see, it’s simply a solid house under a shingle roof, built on the outskirts of town. The traditional lawn with emerald grass, the white siding contrasting with the graphite walls, the wide window openings, the cozy outdoor terrace and the flowering plants in the tubs – all in the Dutch way neat, traditional and underlined elegant, but no more.
However, everyone who crosses the threshold of the villa, mesmerized by the amazing design of interior decoration from the design studio Stephen Versteegh. The daring decision of the masters, which resulted in the interior, so different from the exterior, somewhat shocking, surprising, delighting and arouses genuine interest. Perhaps that’s what the initial therapeutic effect is all about.
In the decoration are generously used grays, sandy and browns, glossy and mirror surfaces of walls and ceilings, leather and velvet, granite and wood, elements of chromium metal… The triumph of materials and forms is clearly visible the fine taste and sense of style of the authors of luxurious design.
Light sources are well represented by spotlights, which support light from elegant ceiling and table lamps, elegant floor lamps, and wall sconces. Concealed lighting accentuates the areas where water substances have a relaxing effect – the pool with clear water, the shower cabins, the Jacuzzi, and even the small sauna enclosed by tempered glass.
Stylistically it looks like a chic interpretation of Pop Art, with its bold solutions, non-standard decorations, poster paintings on the walls and textiles with motives of skulls, inscriptions and exotic animal skins.
Stunning interior is in charge here, it reigns and dominates over the mind, but just enough so that the vacationer can disconnect from worries, forget about problems and enjoy the rest with the maximum degree of comfort.
What elements contribute to the amazing transformation of this historic villa? How did they manage to maintain the patriarchal facade while creating a glamorous interior?
