Through a tiny window in the concrete wall, which serves as a kind of threshold, you can see the treetops of the bushes outside the house. To enter, you just pull the handle on the right wall. Like a gigantic door, the mahogany wall swings open in surprise, inviting you in.

A small fire pit to the left of the entry. A wide concrete bench sits on a level above, so the smoke doesn’t get to guests. There is a garage to the right of the fire pit. The bench acts as a buffer so no one can walk out of the garage without falling in.

Grass-covered dunes visually enhance the area. A hedge trimmed with passiflora, which bears orange fruits that can be eaten. The plant’s white flowers attract numerous butterflies. Growing in abundance Muhlenbergia hardy, or deer grass, protects the soil from erosion and is very unpretentious.
