Sixty years for a house that has never been renovated or major renovations – not a short period of time. You can see it perfectly in the photo: plywood sheets, tongue and groove panels and all wall design Look deplorable.
Some of the walls are damp, others clearly show mechanical damage. All in all, the ranch was more like an old garage than a house. It was as if time stood still here in the middle of the last century!
However, the designers wanted to save the original design and finish elements as much as possible, restoring them and preserving the unique atmosphere of the Wild West.

A fireplace in the interior of a room plays a key role. The unusual geometry of the first floor simply captivated craftsmen, who are more often confronted with rooms of regular shapes – square, rectangular and even round.
The architects took ––extra partitions out of the living room made the room more spacious. Another major change in the interior has been large window decoration – more precisely, the windows that adorn every wall of this original room. So the homeowners not only have a spacious and bright living room, but also get to admire the gorgeous scenery all around.
The wooden ceiling – to the left of the fireplace – was left intact and refurbished a little. This element serves not only a decorative function, but also hides some of the design flaws of the ornate floor plan.
The light colors of the wood accentuate the lightness and size of the room, freed from unnecessary walls. This is especially noticeable against the contrasting dark shades.

The delicate brick wall was left untouched, but a smoked-green glass screen was added to the back of the wall. This solution allowed to give the interior mystery and depth. The emerald reflections and the mystic shadows from the glass are the source of this effect.
The underfloor heating, installed in the 1950s and no longer functioning, was decided not to be removed. Instead, a new pavement was poured directly over it, equipped with modern heating elements. Yes, the room has lost several centimeters of height, but it allowed to avoid a long and routine work, which, incidentally, would cost the new owners a lot of money.
Original decorative objects and interior, like this unusual sconce, demonstrate a design concept that is based on a combination of classic American style and fresh creative techniques.
BEFORE
The kitchen was originally designed to reflect the spirit of the times. Completely closed off from public view, “hidden” in the wooden panelling, it could have been claustrophobic.
Despite the – solid finishes and a walkway that connects several rooms, – this part of the house was not spared from the work to completely modernize it.
From the kitchen “old-style” only the original pots, pans and pans came in handy. Everything else has undergone major changes.
One of the purposes of the renovation was to allow free access to the street from the different rooms, which was not previously possible. Home office with two doors leading to different parts of the yard – a great solution.
White in the interior rooms and plenty of sunlight give the room visual depth and spaciousness, creating a great atmosphere for creativity.
The spaces between the rafters were decided to be turned into original sources of artificial light. Special transparent panels and recessed models of LED lighting have been used for this.
Large window decoration, overlooking the courtyard, the bar counter, the patio plants have wonderfully transformed the exterior of the house.

Drywall as new wall covering, large sofa, modern TV and electric A fireplace in the interior gave the living room a new look. Now it is the owners’ favourite place to relax
A spacious bathroom in the back of the house. It is now equipped with modern facilities, refurbished in light colors and filled with natural light through large – windows in the ceiling – large windows in the living room.
Marble walls, comfortable snow-white bathroom, lots of light and cleanliness – everything you need for a relaxing holiday in a “home spa”.
I’m really curious about the process of reconstructing an old ranch into a country house with a Wild West-inspired interior design. What specific elements or decor choices were made to capture the spirit of the Wild West? How did the designers manage to blend the ruggedness of a ranch with the comfort and elegance typically associated with a country house? Were there any challenges faced during the reconstruction, and how were they overcome? Overall, I would love to learn more about the overall experience of transforming a space into an homage to the Wild West.
