To transform an old single-family home into a modern, comfortable urban mansion, the architects did a considerable amount of work with the building's remodeling project. It took a lot of money to implement the project. The concept was for the building to become one with the environment, not dominating and not standing out from the urban landscape.
Taking the surrounding landscape as their starting point, the architects created a subtle artistic balance between antiquity and modernity. The house has been given an individual appearance in harmony with the surrounding landscape.
The main element of the concept is patio. The entire project is built around it as a central element. For this reason, the builders built two additional extensions which accentuate the originality of the new rear façade and integrate all the rooms of the house into a single whole.
The house is designed so that every room has access to the patio. The balance between openness and privacy is carefully maintained. Light design plays an important role, more precisely –sunlight. The windows face both the north and south sides. Of course, the windows are much larger on the south side. Overall, the house combines practicality, comfort, sustainability and energy efficiency.
