A zero-cube house built from brick and wood waste in a pilot project by Snøhetta

Snøhetta, a renowned Norwegian architecture firm, have recently embarked on a pilot project to construct a zero-cube house from brick and wood waste. This innovative project has many advantages, utilizing locally-sourced materials as well as its design as a zero-cube house, which requires little energy to operate and maintain. The house is also unique in its use of post-consumer waste products which were repurposed to build the home, thereby reducing environmental impact from these materials. In essence, this project is a remarkable instance of sustainable, responsible architecture.

Architects and scientists designed a ground zero house not only for the sake of ecology and cheap energy but also to give house owners a maximum comfort in today’s fast-paced lifestyle. The project is also designed for a small winter garden and a plot of land where you can plant a small vegetable garden and an orchard.

Using solar and thermal panels built into the building’s exterior cladding as a source of energy, the carbon emissions from burning solid fuels can be significantly reduced. It would significantly reduce the threat of the greenhouse effect.
